1/28/08 9:40 a.m-3:50 p.m.
A student returned to parking Lot C to find her car involved in a hit and run resulting in a dent at the bottom of the fog lamp and front bumper on the driver's side.
1/29/08
Officers responded to the Dome for a call from Priority Christian Challenge, a student organization. A woman came to their meeting with the purpose to confront them for the way her son was treated 3 years ago. The woman approached in a somewhat threatening manner. UPD mediated the two parties to a successful resolution.
1/29/08 8:30 p.m.
During a traffic stop exiting Lot F, an officer detected a strong odor of marijuana. Upon further investigation, the officer discovered 2 fixed blade, 8inch throwing knives. UPD cited the student for the stop sign violation and the 2.1 grams of marijuana, submitted a request for a warrant to the district attorney's office, and notified the Dean of Students.
2/1/08 12:50 a.m.
An officer stopped a vehicle that failed to come to a complete stop. Both students were under 21 years of age, dressed as pirates. The officer smelled alcohol, found a box of coronas in the back seat, witnessed the passenger placing something under her seat, and later found 2 flasks of alcohol under her seat. Both were cited for minor in possession of alcohol.
2/2/08 1:45 a.m.
A vehicle code violation prompted officers to conduct a traffic stop on Twin Oaks. The officer smelt a strong odor of marijuana. Officers cited the passenger in possession of .6 grams of marijuana.
2/1/08 9:30 p.m.
An officer found a vehicle obstructing the roadway, parked in the driveway of XYZ Lot. UPD towed the vehicle before class started the following day.
2/3/08 2:30 a.m.
While assisting SD Sheriffs at local apartments, UPD officers approached a non-student who was banging on an apartment door and screaming. The apartment occupants told officers they did not know him and he was booked into jail for public drunkenness.
2/4/08 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
A student returned to their vehicle parked in Lot F and found minor damage to the right front fender and red paint transferred to the vehicle. Anyone with information about the incident should contact UPD or the anonymous tip line.

It appears there were no DUIs this week. Thank Heavens. I am so sick of students driving drunk in or around campus. I wish they would stop and consider they are not only jeopardizing their lives but the lives of their fellow Cougars and the like. (Continued…)
