ROCK/ALTERNATIVE
Panic at the Disco
Pretty. Odd.
14 year-old girls across the world unite in support for Panic at the Disco's follow-up to the wildly successful "A Fever You Can't Sweat Out." The band is showing signs of maturation, not in the content in which they produce, but by eliminating punctuation. That's right. Panic at the Disco (formerly known as Panic! at the Disco) dropped the "!" earlier this year. Sounds like fun.
ROCK
The B-52's
Funplex
In their first studio album since 1992, the B-52's make their comeback... this time, all as members of the 50+ club. "Funplex" reportedly has an "all new" sound - guitarist, Keith Strickland says "It's loud, sexy rock & roll with the beat pumped up to hot pink." Sounds like even more fun.
RAP/HIP HOP
Ghostface Killah
The Wallabee Champ
Endeared as "one of the most supreme talents to pick up a mic, ever," Ghostface Killah has his fair share of respect in the hip-hop community. As a member of The Wu-Tang Clan, Ghostface gained notoriety in the 90s before achieving success with his solo career. "The Wallabee Champ" is a collection of rarities and non-album cuts from throughout his solo career.
PUNK/ALTERNATIVE
Pennywise
Reason To Believe
Jumping on the Radiohead and Nine Inch Nails bandwagon, Pennywise is taking part in what just might change the surface modern music distribution. Starting today, fans can download the album free and legally thanks to a promotion from Myspace Records and Textango. The album maintains the classic Pennywise sound and political criticism that fans have come to love.
ROCK
Counting Crows
Saturday Nights & Sunday Mornings
In their fifth studio release, and first since 2002, the Counting Crows are back with more inspirational and listener-friendly music. The album has two sides - the first of which, titled "Saturday Nights" features a rock styling, and the second, aptly titled "Sunday Mornings," features a more country sound.
