Saba
"Best Damn Thing"
With her new album, "The Fallout," due out this spring, an emo banjo-if there is such a thing-kicks this track off. "Best Damn Thing" combines vocal ingenuity similar to that of Fionna Apple and Regina Spektor, with a poppy backbone of, say, Sheryl Crow, and the whole thing winds down with a southern feel, leaving an almost vaudeville taste in your mouth.

Kerri Dopart
"Aven"
Poised and provocative, the indie-country vibe that Dopart emits reminds of Celine Dion mixed with a little bit of Norah Jones and the Dixie Chicks. "Aven" is a beautifully crafted track - a love letter in form of a song. Dopart's voice is refreshing and unexpected.

Dave Boodakian
"All My Love"
Can anyone say "the next John Mayer"? A local import from Boston, Mass., Boodakian possesses the vocal prowess and flirtatious acoustic guitar skills that will have the girls melting from here, to, well, Boston. Boodakian's style is a mixed bag of making love, philosophy and comedy, and "All My Love" is just the track to show San Diego what he's all about.

Love Campaign
"Dead at 21"
Britney better watch out-though this track isn't about her, it borrows from the feedback infused and synthy-rock style that fills her latest hit "Gimme More." With hard vocals and a Killers-esque lead guitar, the lyrical drama Love Campaign proclaims laces every bass line and hangs heavy with a climatic hook.

Derek Evans
"Telephone"
"Telephone" is a strum-tastic tune of discovery and communication in which Evans uses his guitar as a teasing rhythm and his voice as a map through the lyric-driven world created by the song. Full and free-flowing, this track is mellow and intriguing.

Nena Anderson
Nena is her name and jazz is her game. From covering old classics like "Gee Baby" and "Don't Get Me Wrong," Anderson's knack for jazz and blues pays off in her self-produced track, "Say You'll Be Mine." This track is where her vocals and piano dance together in a sugary matrimony of harmony and bliss.
